What is Hatha yoga ?
Hatha yoga is linking and balancing the body, mind and breath. Using physical postures and mindful breathing we move between poses sometimes slowly and sometimes with more of a flow (vinyasa flow). I am very aware of teaching correct, safe posture alignment. A regular yoga practice will build bodily strength and increase flexibility whilst the breathing and mindfulness will ease stress and tension and calm the mind. Yoga helps to support the immune system and maintain overall good health.
Breath is life and is the barometer of our internal self. In todays fast paced life we have lost the ability to breath properly. In my classes work with the breath, whether linking breath to movement or practicing breathing techniques (pranayama).

Thank you so much for visiting my website and welcome...
I have been practicing yoga for 17 years and it has become a large part of my every day life. Over the years I have tried many different types of yoga from Ashtanga, Hatha, Jivamukti to Yin and Restorative and they are all amazing and the benefits of each are wonderful.
From my first yoga class I felt a connection and loved the way it made me feel both physically and mentally. I felt I had stretched, worked my body and had a real feeling of release in both body and mind. I was instantly hooked on the physical and breathing practices of yoga and continued to try various yoga classes along with my other keep-fit regimes. I decided to explore yoga further - I took a meditation course and started reading more about the other sides (limbs of yoga). In 2016 I completed the BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) foundation course, followed by the 245 hour teacher training with Yoga Alliance Professionals in 2017. More recently, I completed a 50 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training Course and will bring Yin yoga to my timetable very soon. To this date I have over 1200 teaching hours.
The path of yoga is never ending and I continue to learn and take classes and workshops with inspirational world class teachers.
I feel so honoured to be teaching this amazing ancient practice - sharing my knowledge and love of yoga with others. I have increased my body strength and flexibility with yoga and the philosophy teachings and mindfulness have helped me through some difficult times over the years. It is an incredible discipline with so many benefits and the beauty of it is that any age and ability can practice.

Since we have been placed in Tier 4 all classes are live streamed via zoom. Once you book a class I will send you an email with the zoom link. I will open the room 5/10 minutes before the start time.
Once we move back to some normality and the local halls re-open then 2 of the weekly classes are live !
Monday 09.30 -10.45 at The Greenwood Centre Hampton Hill
Wednesday 19.00 - 20.15 at NPL Sports Club Teddington
Both halls have had the Covid 19 risk assessment and we respect the social distancing regulations. Numbers are limited to allow for spacing.
During the summer months when the weather allows we are able to practice outside at NPL sports club which is very special.
Classes are 75 minutes and I vary them weekly, adapting according to the level of the students/class. I usually theme the class and often also include pranayama (breathing practices) We always end the class with Savasana (10 minute relaxation). You will leave your yoga practice having felt that you have stretched and opened your body but also feel a sense of calm.
